Hesam Seifi was born in North-west of Iran. As a child, he was always passionate about animals. He grew up with his grandmother's cats and his favorite among all was SHOTOUR.

Dr. Seifi received his DVM degree in 1988 and he got his DVSc in 1996 from University of Tehran. He has over two decades of experience, both in academic and clinical settings. He has published more than 100 scientific papers on veterinary clinical medicine in scientific journals. 

Dr. Seifi has worked as a visiting professor at Ontario Veterinary College for 6 months in 2005 and at The University of British Columbia in 2014. He permanently moved to Canada in 2018 and then started the process of taking the National Board Exams. He successfully passed the exams, approved as a full-licensed veterinarian in Canada. His area of interest is internal medicine including endocrinology and metabolic diseases. 

In 2021, he and Dr. Sardari, his colleague and friend of more than 30 years decided to establish their own state of art practice based on their experience. Burke Mountain Animal Hospital was opened on September 6th 2022 in Port Coquitlam to provide a wide range of services to all your furry friends! 

Fun fact, he is not the only veterinarian in his family; his wife is a veterinary microbiologist and his daughter and elder brother are veterinarians, too!
