Diagnostic ultrasound is a non-invasive diagnostic technique which uses high-frequency sound waves to capture live images from the inside of the  body. The images can provide valuable information for diagnosing and treating various diseases and conditions. Ultrasound in veterinary medicine has revolutionized the diagnosis of many internal diseases. Ultrasound is used to help diagnose a variety of conditions, such as abdominal pain, pancreatitis, enlargement abdomen organ, stones in the kidney or bladder, portosystemic shunts,  pregnancy and the number of fetuses in utero, and needle biopsies in which needles are used to extract sample of cells from organs for laboratory tests. It requires minimum restraint and typically doesn’t distress pets. The procedure allows us to view the internal organs with greater precision.
